GRIEF RECOVERY (SHADOWLANDS)

Shadowlands provides a Christian perspective on the journey from loss to a restored sense of peace and joy. You will learn about God’s model of grieving, coping skills for difficult emotions, and insights into the effect of a loss on all areas of life. Loss is experienced in many forms: Death of a loved one, end of relationship, job loss, life-changing illnesses, adoption choice, abortion or suicide.

  • 6 week program
  • Zoom Sessions ($50 per person)
    • Tuesdays, Feb 20 – Mar 26 (2:00-4:00 -0R- 6:00-8:00  Central Time)
      Both of these sessions are the same
  • In-person Sessions (No cost for in-person sessions)
    • Wednesdays, Feb 21 – Mar 27 (6:30-8:30 Central Time at Christ Church in Plano TX)

MILITARY (ACTIVE AND RETIRED)

Military personnel experience unique types of loss and grief. Separation from family and trauma of combat to name a few are stress factors and sources of grief.  Unique to these losses is the code of silence which is honored and will be honored during the session. This is an opportunity to learn about grief’s affects, Christian perspective on suffering and coping skills to live in content.

  • 3 sessions via Zoom, Fridays, Feb 23-Mar 8 (6:00PM – 7:30PM Central Time)
  • $30 per person

PASTORAL CARE IN CANADA

Clergy and Pastoral Care Ministers are experiencing the aftermath of MAID (Medical Assistance in Death) which is being experienced both personally and in their congregations. Loss through this type of suicide has traumatic ramification within the families of those who died. Join with other ministers to learn about the signs of possible suicide, support for the grievers and messages to avert the consideration of this epidemic of death across Canada.

  • 3 sessions via Zoom, Mondays, Feb 19-Mar 4 (6:00PM – 7:30PM Central Time)
  • There is NO COST for this program

FIRST RESPONDERS

First Responders experience danger and trauma as a daily part of their job. This program will address Christian perspectives of grief, coping skills and tips on how to respond to those who are served.

  • 3 sessions via Zoom, Mondays, May 13-May 27 (6:00PM – 7:30PM Central Time)
  • $30 per person

CANCER PATIENTS

Cancer patients not only suffer from treatment but the “unknown future" which surrounds them every day. Join with others on the battle ground of cancer or with survivors to learn about Christian perspectives on grief and suffering.  Included are coping skills to ease the stress of the journey.

  • 3 sessions via Zoom, Fridays, May 17-May 31 (6:00PM – 7:30PM Central Time)
  • $30 per person

DEMENTIA CARE GIVERS

Care givers for dementia or terminal loved ones have not yet experienced death but are walking the daily path that is lined with tiny signs of diminished function of their loved one’s mental and physical health. Share and learn about the grief process that is a part of the care givers daily life. Join with others on the journey to learn about Christian perspectives on grief and suffering. Included are coping skills to ease the stress of the journey.

  • 3 sessions via Zoom, Tuesday, May 14-May 28 via Zoom (6:00PM – 7:30PM Central Time)
